2016 Reserve Pinot Noir

92 points, Year’s Best- Wine & Spirits

This wine is dense, as it should be for a Reserve. The dark blue and black fruit is found in the glass along with brown sugar before evolving into black tea and tobacco. The tannins are initially big and fill the entire mouth. But the long-lasting finish shines. The big mouthfeel develops into a long, silky, vibrant ending that intrigues you to go back for a second, third, fourth visit.

2016 Ridgecrest Vineyard Pinot Noir

92 points, Year’s Best- Wine & Spirits

Aromatically, this wine integrates bright fruit with darker earth aspects. This Ridgecrest Pinot Noir jumps out of the glass with ripe red fruit and blackberry bushes balanced with sarsaparilla and forest floor mushrooms, all elevated by a hint of new oak toast. On the palate the tannins are intense. Up front, they are drying but as the mouthfeel evolves, they become soft like fine chalk. The bright acid exposes a lingering essence of dried cherries and spices.
